Why does everybody hate orchestral music so much?

Whenever my friends hear classical music or film scores, they seem to
not be able to stand it.

With some classical music maybe I can understand their reaction - but
film scores? I mean, I can understand not wanting to really listen to
them often, because a lot of movie music is really emotional and does
make you feel stressed. But when you happen to hear it playing
somewhere, how is it possible to hear something so emotional and not
to be moved by it at all? They even make fun of the music, saying it's
too dramatic and "needs happy pills" then put in ear buds and listen
to rap to block it out.
I'm not saying these types of music should be anyone's preference. I'm
just wondering why people don't see anything in them at all or
understand what it is that the people who listen to them see in them.
